1. Respect and kindness
Our community is based on mutual support and respect. Each member, author or reader, must respect other users, their opinions and their creations. Constructive criticism is encouraged, but personal attacks, insults, defamatory remarks or any harmful behavior will not be tolerated. Any content or comment deemed disrespectful may be deleted, and sanctions may be taken against the user concerned.
2. Intellectual property
Each author remains the sole owner of his or her works published on Le Scriptorium. You retain all rights to your texts, and the site does not claim any rights to them. Published works may not be copied, reproduced or distributed without the express consent of the author. Users agree to respect the intellectual property of other members, and any act of plagiarism will be severely punished. If you wish to use part or all of a text, you must obtain the author’s permission.
3. Appropriate content
The works and comments published on the site must comply with the laws in force and conform to good morals. We formally prohibit content that is hateful, violent, discriminatory, sexist, racist or incites hatred in any form. Writing containing explicit scenes must be marked with a clear warning about the content. We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these rules, and sanctions may be applied to users who fail to comply.
4. Originality of the works
Works published on Le Scriptorium must be original creations. If you wish to publish fan fiction, it must respect the rights of the copyright holders. Plagiarism, theft of ideas or unauthorized reproduction of texts by other authors is strictly forbidden. Each member is encouraged to let his or her imagination run wild, but always with respect for the creations of others.
5. Privacy and security
We take the protection of our users’ personal data very seriously. Information shared during registration (e-mail, user name, etc.) will never be disclosed or sold to third parties without consent. You are also responsible for the confidentiality of your own data. Never share your login information or other sensitive data with other members. In the event of a problem, contact the site team immediately to report an incident or identity theft.
6. Interactivity and community
The Scriptorium is first and foremost a community of passionate authors and readers. Respect for exchanges is essential to maintain a friendly atmosphere. Comments left on works must be respectful, constructive and relevant. We encourage exchanges, discussions and feedback. It is forbidden to post advertising messages, spam or content unrelated to the discussion in progress.
7. Moderation and reporting
Our team of moderators ensures compliance with this charter and the security of the platform. If you notice any inappropriate behavior or content that does not comply with our rules, you can report it using the reporting feature provided. Moderators reserve the right to delete any content that does not comply with the charter, to take action against users in the event of repeated abuse, and, in the most serious cases, to suspend or permanently ban an account.
8. Members’ rights and responsibilities
By registering on Le Scriptorium, you agree to respect this charter in its entirety. You have the right to share your writings, receive comments, and actively participate in the life of the community. However, as a member, you are also responsible for the content you publish. You must ensure that your works and comments comply with the charter and applicable laws, and do not infringe the rights of others.
9. Publication and management of works
Each member is free to publish his or her writings on the platform, whether short stories, novels, poems, fanfiction or essays. You can manage your publications at any time, modifying, adding to or deleting them as you see fit. However, once a work is published, it becomes visible to all members of the community. We encourage authors to regularly update their works and interact with readers to improve their work.
